VDS Smart Factory connects to anything that gives off a digital signal, and where that signal is missing, we supply the hardware. Below are the protocols, systems and hardware categories we work with as standard.
We build the connections inside your own network segmentation. The OT layer stays separated from IT and we prefer to work within your own tenant, so your data does not leave your environment.
Machine data Protocols
- OPC UA
Industry standard for modern PLCs and machines. Bi-directional communication, built-in security.
- Modbus TCP / RTU
Classic industrial standard, widely supported by legacy machines and sensors.
- Digital & analogue I/O
For machines without a network interface. We read relays, sensors and encoders directly.
- EtherNet/IP, PROFINET
On request for specific PLC brands (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).

Connection to existing MES systems for batch and order data.
