About Kooi
Kooi Camerabewaking is one of the leading providers of construction site security in Europe. In a competitive market such as temporary, mobile camera surveillance, data is the most important parameter; clear information that is correct is essential to be able to steer the business quickly.
The situation
Kooi worked with several source systems from which management information had to be brought together. Forecasting, financial control and operational reporting ran through Power BI, fed by an ETL environment that needed rebuilding. At the same time a large ERP programme was coming up, with data migration out of old systems into one central database for finance, HR and supply chain.

The solution
VDS rebuilt the ETL tool and designed a forecasting analysis dashboard in which sales managers and financial controllers can find their own way, with ease of use first. For the ERP programme, VDS handles the data migration and helps to put the data warehouse of the future in place, with Power BI smoothly connected to it.
The approach: first ask the right questions at a high level, which data, out of which systems, over which years, and only then move to action. Feedback is gathered throughout delivery, so nothing has to be done twice. An SLA safeguards continuity: daily snapshots of the rental business must always be available.
The result
The Board of Kooi now has a single source of truth. The organisation runs on Power BI, with management information against which the strategy can be tested. The ETL solution is in place for a fraction of the cost that is usual elsewhere and is scalable enough to keep developing with. The support has filtered through to IT, Finance and the new Continuous Improvement team.
